4 reasons why business cards are still valuable.

Are business cards still relevant?

Many people might think business cards are now a waste of paper, space and effort. Something you exchange with someone just to either lose in your backpack, or throw away.

There has been a growth in business that are out to replace the printed business card with a digital version – something for people to scan and immediately download your information.

As a graphic designer, I see the value in both. The digital and the print. While I might be a bit more biased towards the print versions.

Here are 4 reasons why business cards are still a valuable tool for business of all sizes.

  1. They're a tangible way to connect with people.

    • A business card is a physical object that people can hold and keep. It can help people remember your name and what your business is.

  2. They help you build relationships.

    • When you exchange business cards with someone, you're making a personal, in real-time connection. This can help you build relationships with potential clients, partners, and other professionals.

  3. They're a great way to promote your business.

    • Your business card should be easy to read, clear and simple, include your contact information, logo, and website.
They are a great tool to quickly leave a positive impression on your next customer.

  4. They're affordable and easy to produce.

    • Business cards are relatively inexpensive to produce, and you can get them printed in a variety of shapes, sizes and finishes. (Square, mini, raised text, silver/gold foil, etc.)
This makes them a great way to customize your marketing materials at an affordable rate.

I know there are some challenges with business cards. People might immediately throw them away, or hide them in their wallet forever. They also might not be for every industry. However, the pros of using business cards outweigh the cons.

If you're looking for a simple way to promote your company, business cards are still a valuable tool.
